At Junction City High School, the Forensics program offers an exciting platform for students to develop their public speaking, communication, and performance skills. Forensics, also known as speech and drama, is an engaging extracurricular activity that allows students to showcase their talents in various forms of public speaking and interpretation.

In the Forensics program at Junction City High School, students have the opportunity to participate in a range of events, including original oratory, dramatic interpretation, humorous interpretation, impromptu speaking, and more. These events provide students with a chance to explore their interests and showcase their abilities in persuasive speaking, acting, and oral interpretation of literature.

Mission/Purpose: Develop and improve thinking, research, and communication skills.

Membership Requirements: Students enrolled in Intro to Forensics; Forensics: Argumentation; Forensics: Oral Interpretation.  Instructor permission necessary for Independent Study and extracurricular participation only.  Participation in tournaments outside of the school day or on the weekends. Students must maintain KSHSAA eligibility.

Dues: N/A

Activities/Projects: Compete in local, state, and national tournaments; host an invitational at JCHS.

Criteria to Earn Graduation credit: Compete in four full tournaments during the season.
