Mission/Purpose: Art Club is a student-led group that functions primarily with the goal of providing an opportunity for students to come together in a community outside of the classroom setting to engage in conversations and activities in art.
Membership Requirements: Open to all JCHS students who enjoy the arts. A member pays yearly dues, participates in meetings/activities, and observes all school rules/policies for all functions. You do not have to have any prior art experience to join Art Club.
Dues: $5 per year – helps offset meeting supply and contest submission costs for members
Activities/Projects: We focus on materials and projects that are beyond what you would do in a regular art class.  Students can experiment with various art materials in a personalized, open and exploratory manner.  Some past projects include open studio time, art games volunteer for local organizations, face painting, window painting, holiday crafts, produced a mural, sketchbook making, tie dying and arts advocacy.  Art Club provides activities for students of all levels of interests and abilities. 
Criteria to earn Graduation Credit: Attend at least 3 meetings a semester and participate in 1 art club activity a semester.

Mission/Purpose: To increase Blue Jay spirit school wide with ALL JCHS students and to promote Blue Jay spirit within our community. 

Membership Requirements: Open to all JCHS Students and Staff.  Participate in monthly meetings and school wide spirit activities, 

Dues: $5.00 (includes a T-shirt and dues)  

Activities/Projects: To include but not limited to:  painting windows, making spirit signs, organizing pep rallies, organizing game night themes. Promoting school spirit through attendance at games/events. Supporting STUCO and grade level class committees on any of the events in which they are responsible. 

Criteria to earn graduation credit: Members should be active in school spirit events and show school spirit through the school year.  Members should attend at least 5 committee meetings throughout the year.  

Mission/Purpose:  To produce the Annual School Play, help in the upkeep of the drama facilities, keep track of lettering points for drama letters, and to provide drama/acting opportunities to students who cannot fit drama/acting into their schedules. 

Membership Requirements:  Pay dues, participate in club meetings/activities, as well as observe all school rules/policies at all functions. 

Dues: One-time payment of $5.00, includes club T-shirt 

Activities/Projects:  Publicize play, build/paint play set, provide for backstage crews (set, make-up, lights, and sound) for the play, maintain drama facilities throughout school year, produce one-act play for the annual Spring Family Play Nite, offer drama opportunities for students who cannot enroll in drama due to scheduling conflicts, and offer some service learning opportunities (i.e. Haunted Trail, work at the Little Theatre, work at the opera house, etc.). 
Fundraising:  Not an annual requirement 

Criteria to earn Graduation Credit:  Attend at least 3 meetings per semester and participate in at least 10 hours of extra-curricular theatre activities throughout the school year (i.e. working on play(s), being in play(s), watching live play, working at the opera house, etc.). 

Mission/Purpose:  FEA is dedicated to supporting young people interested in education related careers.

Membership Requirements: Pay dues, participate in club meetings/activities, as well as observe all school rules/policies at all functions.

Dues: Annual payment of $8.

Activities/Projects: As the co-curricular component of state-recognized Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs of study, FEA enhances the classroom experience for students enrolled in Education and Training career cluster programs.

Criteria to earn Graduation Credit: Attend all scheduled meetings throughout the school year and at least 5 hours of shadowing a current teacher in the school district.

Mission/Purpose:  The purpose of FBLA is to provide additional opportunities for students in business and business-related fields to develop vocational and career supportive competencies and to promote community and personal responsibilities. Students attend and participate in leadership conferences and competitions in several occupational areas that promote leadership skills. 

Membership Requirements: Pay dues, participate in club meetings/activities, attend and compete in District Competition as well as observe all school rules/policies at all functions. 
Meetings: Once per month. 

Dues: One-time payment of $15.00, which goes toward state and national dues 

Activities/Projects:  Attend monthly meetings to discuss Business related topics.  Compete in both District and State FBLA competitions.  Participate in Business Education week.  
Fundraising: Not an annual requirement. 

Criteria to earn Graduation Credit: Attend monthly meetings and participate in FBLA activities. Compete in District FBLA

 Mission/Purpose:  To promote personal growth and leadership development through family and consumer sciences education.  Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development; creative and critical thinking; interpersonal communications; practical knowledge; and career preparation.  

Membership Requirements:  Pay dues, participate in club meetings/activities, as well as observe all school rules/policies at all functions. 

Dues: Yearly $20.00, includes FCCLA Polo, State dues, and National dues 

Activities/Projects: Fall leadership conference (all members attend), Take-AIM training (officer training), Star event competition (Regional level, State level, and National level) if students qualify and advance at each level.  Students who chose to compete start work on projects in October, Community service project, Concession stands. 
Fundraising: Concession stands during fall and spring sport season. One per year as a whole group. Those that advance to nationals must do a fundraiser to fund the trip. 

Criteria to earn Graduation Credit: Attend at least 3 meetings per semester, attend at least 2 of the 4 concession stands each semester, and either compete in STAR events or attend regionals as helpers to Mrs. Garver 

Mission/Purpose: Students in German club explore the German culture, language, history, and food. They create community with like-minded peers and enhance their curiosity for the German-speaking world. Students participate in service-focused activities and projects as per the interests of current club members. Students do not need to speak German to participate in the club or club activities.

Membership Requirements: The club is open to all current JCHS students that have an interest in the German-speaking world.

Meetings: Full-club meetings are approximately 1x per month during afternoon advisories. Students working on projects will meet more often, as the project requires.

Activities/Projects: Activities/Projects vary each year depending on the interests of the students in the club. Past projects have included poster projects, designing the club t-shirt, exploring castles, experiencing different German foods, etc. In addition, each year the club volunteers to help with the Junction City Oktoberfest. German club students may also elect to join the German class field trip to Schülerkongress every Spring.

Criteria to earn Graduation Credit: Be active in the club and attend 80% of meetings. Students should participate in club events, including volunteering and fundraising, and should communicate with the club sponsor if unable to attend the above.

Mission/Purpose:  To promote better relationships between all races; to provide activities which will aid African American/Black students in their desire for self-awareness of their culture; to make school life relevant now and in the future; to assist students who are interested in post-secondary opportunities; and to study the history of Black culture to gain an understanding of the present, while focusing on the future.
Membership Requirements:  Open to all JCHS-CAC students.  Participate in club activities and projects.
Meetings:  Once a month before school or during Advisory.
Activities/Projects:  Multicultural Day at K-State, sponsor Black History Month (February) activities (this includes putting up displays in the library, (contest), sponsor the annual Childhood Obesity Walk (May).

Criteria to earn graduation credit: Participate in activities/projects, help with fundraisers, and attend monthly meetings.

Mission/Purpose: The purpose of this chapter shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in students of Junction City High School.

Membership Requirements: Membership in this chapter is an honor bestowed upon deserving students by the faculty and shall be based on the criteria of Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. Membership in this chapter shall be known as active, honorary, and graduate.  Active members become graduate members at graduation.  Honorary members are selected at the discretion of the Faculty Council.  Graduate and honorary members have no voice or vote in chapter affairs.

Eligibility:

a. Candidates eligible for section to this chapter must be members of the sophomore, junior, or senior class.

b. To be eligible for section to membership in this chapter, the candidate must have been enrolled for a period equivalent to one semester at Junction City High School.

c. Candidates eligible for election to the chapter shall have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted GPA) and enrolled in two weighted courses.

d. Upon meeting the grade level, enrollment, and GPA standards, candidates shall then be considered based on their service, leadership, and character.

Dues: None

Activities/Projects: Each member completes 2 service hours a month for a total of 24 hours; 8 hours for new members after induction ceremony, then 24 hours the next school year. Each member is required to participate in at least 1 NHS service project every year.

Criteria to earn Graduation Credit: Stay in good standing by: being enrolled in 2 weighted classes each semester, participate in 1 NHS service project each year. Complete service hours requirement.

Mission/Purpose: To unite in a common bond of students enrolled in trade and industrial education classes. To develop leadership abilities as officers in the organization. To promote high standards in trade ethics, workmanship, scholarship and safety.

Membership Requirements: Enrolled in Drafting, Construction, Automotive or Welding class, Pay dues, participate in club meetings/activities, as well as observe all school rules/policies at all functions.

Dues: $15 per academic year

Activities/Projects: District Leadership Conference, State Leadership Conference, Local Skill Contest, and State Leadership and Skill Championships.

Criteria to Earn Graduation Credit: Attend at least 3 meetings per semester

Mission/Purpose: Celebrate the Spanish language and the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world through authentic cuisine, music, and conversation. 

Membership Requirements: Sign up and obtain a membership card.

Activities/Projects: Planting trees (TBD)
Criteria to earn Graduation Credit: Attend and contribute to at least half of the year’s meetings.

Mission/Purpose: Student 2 Student supports all military-connected children by educating, advocating, and collaborating to resolve education challenges associated with the military lifestyle.

The enduring strategic goals that the Student 2 Student program seeks are:

• Military-connected children’s academic, social and emotional needs are recognized, supported and appropriate responses provided.
• Parents, and other supporting adults, are empowered with the knowledge to ensure military-connected children are college, workforce and life-ready.
• A strong community of partners is committed to support an environment where military-connected children thrive.

Membership Requirements: Students are appointed as S2S Ambassadors based on grade-level, academic success and leadership

Activities/Projects: Student 2 Student Ambassadors welcome every new student to the school throughout the year. Ambassadors provide students with a familiar face to ask questions of and learn about the school on day 1.

Mission/Purpose: The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national non-profit career and technical student organization (CTSO) of middle and high school students engaged in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The Technology Student Association enhances personal development, leadership, and career opportunities in STEM, whereby members apply and integrate these concepts through intracurricular activities, competitions, and related programs. 

Motto:  Learning to lead in a technical world.
Membership Requirements: Any middle or high school student enrolled in USD 475.  Must be officially registered as TSA member for the school year.
Dues: $12.00 one-time registration fee.
Activities/Projects:  Participate in leadership conferences with Kansas TSA state activities and work on at least 2 TSA event competition projects.
Criteria to earn Graduation Credit:  Students will be officially handed out TSA membership certificates towards graduation credits only if they meet the following requirements:

1. Must attend at least 2/3 of the club meetings assigned to all members.
2. Must participate at least 2/3 of the number of fund-raising activities and community service activities.
3. Must attend at least one state leadership conferences either in Fall or Spring KS state conferences.
4. Must work on at least 2 event competitions for KS state conferences and approved by the TSA-JCHS Chapter adviser.  Members are expected to participate in the KS State conference in spring for TSA and Robotics competition.  Students who do not participate in KS State competitions are required to work on TSA presentations during CTE workshop or CTE showcase days.
5. Only TSA members that compete for TSA State competitions/ Robotics competition are qualified to go to the TSA/ VEX National Conferences.
